Papuan Student Association in America committed to build the area after study

The Papuan Student Association (IMAPA) in America is committed to returning to Indonesia and developing regions after completing studies in the United States.
    .
The statement was made by United States IMAPA Chairperson Anis Labene via video sent by the Indonesian Consulate General in San Francisco to the Antara News Agency.
    .
"We want to look ahead, what we can do is millennial Papua as an economic driver, as people who can return to develop their regions. Don't think about it like this, why only now, but we want to look more at the future and take advantage of existing opportunities. , "Anis was quoted as saying from the video.
    .
According to Anis, there is still debate among the Papuan people, especially in IMAPA itself, which questions why the new government is now actively building evenly into Papua.
    .
However, Anis underlined that IMAPA invites all young Papuans, both those who are studying abroad and in Indonesia, to forget the past and take advantage of the development currently being carried out in Papua.
    .
Therefore, IMAPA welcomes and supports the development program that is currently being carried out in Papua, one of which is the highlight is the Trans Papua road along about 4,600 kilometers (km) which will connect the Provinces of Papua and West Papua.
    .
"We as students, as students, are very welcome, very happy when the current government does not only side with one of the provinces, it is now evenly distributed, it wasn't like that at the time. We don't want to talk about politics, but in fact it is like that, where Mr. Jokowi is "We do it, we are very welcoming and that is what we expect," said Anis.
    .
Therefore, IMAPA hopes that the development currently underway in Papua can be a way for local and central governments to welcome Papuan youth who want to return after studying outside the region or abroad, one of which is through the use of information technology.
    .
In this regard, the government is currently also developing the Palapa Ring Optical Cable project, which is planned to be planted along the Trans Papua route.
