Indonesia Put Inscriptions at the Raja Ampat Border and Palau State

West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan has installed two inscriptions on Fani Island, Raja Ampat, to reinforce the boundaries between the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and the Republic of Palau. "The installation of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika inscription and the state border inscription in the Ayau Islands District region was carried out on Saturday (7/12)," Governor Dominggus Mandacan said in Manokwari on Monday.
    .
Governor Dominggus was accompanied by Pangdam XVIII / Cassowary Maj. Gen. Joppye Onesimus Wayjauh, West Papua Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Hery Rudolf Nahak, Chief Secretary of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) Sujahar Diantoro, and Raja Ampat Regent Abdul Faris Umlati.
    .
"This is proof that the West Papua Provincial Government is protecting the Republic of Indonesia. We guard the border area with the state of Palau, "he said. Fani Island is an uninhabited island. Inscriptions were installed to prevent other countries from being annexed.
    .
"There has been experience that has happened to a number of Indonesia's outer islands that were annexed by neighboring countries, so that this staging needs to be made, because according to the story of the Raja Ampat people, people from the country of Palau came to Fani Island," he said. Dominggus Mandacan also advised Indonesian Navy troops serving at the Fani Island Naval Base and communities in the Ayau Islands District to maintain the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia in the outer border of the Indonesian state.
    .
After putting up the inscription, the governor and his entourage took time to visit the Ruthum Village in the Ayau Islands District. Ruthum is one of the outermost villages in West Papua which is inhabited by 331 families with a total population of 1,407 people.
    .
"Raja Ampat Regent Abdul Faris Umlati stressed that the Ayau Islands have been safe. The community is also loyal to maintain the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia in the region," the governor said. The governor added that safeguards in the region had not been supported by adequate facilities. He hoped the central government would complement the facilities needed by the TNI in the islands.
    .
"Water defense equipment is needed, as well as other supporting equipment. From the story of TNI personnel there there have been foreign drones flying over the Ayau Islands. We must tighten up not to be careless," he said.
