The Coordinating Minister for PMK Muhadjir Effendy said, the XX PON 2020, will have a good impact while building a positive image for Papua as the host. PON can also have a good impact on the economic sector of the people of Papua. PON can make the economic sector of Papua can be extended to neighboring countries such as the emergence of sports tourism in Papua.

"Not only at the national level but also at the international level. The positive image that we will raise at the international level also strengthens the position of the Papua province, especially West Papua, as an inseparable part of the Republic of Indonesia," Muhadjir said, Friday (1/24).

PON 2020 is a big mission carried out by the government, both central and regional, to build a positive image of Papua and be able to lift the dignity of the people of Papua. In addition, the PON event is also appropriate to look for athletes who have high talent throughout Indonesia, especially those in Papua.

Even though until now the preparations have been good, the regional and central governments must continue to maintain cooperation and coordination so that preparations can run up to the day of implementation.

"In fact, not only until the day of implementation, all parties must be able to maintain the PON facilities that were built to be useful for the long term. Not just for a moment," said Muhadjir.
