Papua Health Office encourages service improvement through the completeness of medical facilities

The Provincial Government of Papua continues to encourage service improvement through the completeness of medical facilities that support services to the community.

Head of the Papua Provincial Health Office Aloysius Giyai in Jayapura on Tuesday said that one of the more comprehensive medical facilities in the hospital was a neurosurgery service unit and so on.

"So it is not only physical, but the service that we will improve," said Aloysius, who is also the Acting Director of Jayapura General Hospital.

According to Aloysius, with efforts to complete the medical facility, the Papuan people should not be referred to other hospitals.

"We hope that regional hospitals such as Jayapura Regional Hospital can become quality, best, most comprehensive national references and others," he said.

He explained, for example, the collaboration that was being established with Sardjito Jogjakarta Hospital was expected to improve the quality of health services for the people of Papua.

"The collaboration with Sardjito General Hospital has actually been established for a long time, now it is only emphasized administratively," he said again.

He added that Jayapura Hospital is now equipped with neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, MRI and endoscopic services.
